Collection of Health and Wellness Materials

Posters, postcards, even postage stamps — public awareness and lifestyle modification activities aimed at preventing disease utilised multiple channels. This collection includes materials from many former Soviet Republics and the Ministry of Health of the People’s Republic of China.

The materials featured in this collection came about in response to epidemics, as a means of facilitating the health of pregnant women, nurses and children, combating addictions, encouraging personal hygiene, and mitigating occupational health issues. Some of the earliest items were issued in the early 20th century.
